![A white wall displays several squares of paper with folds in different colors. A beam of light hits this paper array from the upper right corner. The folds of the paper and the light create shadows on the wall that resemble the outlines of the side faces of the company's employees.](https://static.wixstatic.com/media/25925d_8ab7f095a1974674898ba5301d8d6caf~mv2.jpg/v1/fill/w_517,h_454,al_c,q_80,enc_auto/25925d_8ab7f095a1974674898ba5301d8d6caf~mv2.jpg)
This artwork captivates me with its innovative angle of expression as well as its humanity. The artist creatively utilized light and shadow to express her concern for the people in the company while demonstrating her business values.
In the spring of 2024, I'll be starting a video game development program. I think this inspiration can be translated into a very interesting gameplay. The initial idea right now is that the game will be a 2D puzzle game similar to Limbo or Typoman. However, compared with this two games, the central element of the gameplay will be changed to light and shadow. The player needs to control the position of the light source or the objects in relation to the light source so that the final shadow formed meets certain conditions. For example if the player wants to pass through a locked door, she/he has to make the shadow take the shape of a key. I shared this idea with my friend who is also in the professional field. She gave me an illuminating suggestion that we could give the player the ability to control the day/night change, so that the light and shadow changes are more varied, greatly increasing the degree of freedom. I would like to thank her for her advice.
